Here's a incredible Audere Preamp which you can retro fit into a Jazz Bass.

 

Comes mounted on a jazz bass chrome plate.

 

You can take the knobs off the plate for rear routed instruments.

If my jazz bass was routed for this I’d be right on it. Love what these guys are doing with their preamps. Very intelligent twist on a preamp. For me it’s like a mix between John East and a tonestyler.

These are great preamps.  I have a 4-band Audere in my last remaining fretless ACG bass.

Is your preamp subtly different to the one in the link as I can't see the Z mode micro switch and wonder what the 5-way switch does?

I did some hunting and found a link to the old Audere site with a similar preamp on it here. It has an explanation of what the 6-way switch does. It looks like the one for sale has the knobs on the plate rotated by 180deg with the vol where the 6 way should be @jamesugster?? Looks an interesting preamp and I'd like to try it out but dont have a need at the moment. 😟

Sorry I’ve just seen this. For some reason I don’t get notification.

 

the board has a series of different settings you can adjust with a screw driver, which I assume effected the 5 way switch.

 

i never experimented with there’s and only used on of the settings on the 5 way switch.

 

to be totally transparent the unit wasn’t quite for me because of all the options. I’m not that techie these days!That’s not to say it isn’t a great option. I needed something simpler…. I’ve chosen the same pre as my other basses for consistency… hence the sale.

 

i can take pictures of the dip switches.. if people are seriously interested.

Are you asking if it has an active passive switch?

 

the answer to that question is there’s no option to run the instrument in passive..:

 

I’m sure if you message audere there maybe a way one could wired in.

 

but the to options are huge on!
