Been playing just over a year, loving it. Got me a beginners bass to start with (one of them great starter kits with amp, etc.) then picked up a second hand Ibanez SR300E a few months back.

Learning from the web and really enjoying playing some tabs from my favourite tunes over the years.

Welcome aboard!

May I recommend StudyBass.com as an overlooked site for beginners? Great lessons on theory and proper technique

Very structured, short but informative lessons, and entirely free. You can chose to pay for additional lessons but I didn’t.

Scottd  Bass Lessons is a marmite site. Annual subscription is around £80, but the academy is very good. It is a school though, so to get the benefits you need to follow the courses even if you don't like the style of music.

Most of all - just Enjoy yourself,  and if you can find others to play with, that's the best way to get better and to really have fun !

I subscribed to gigajamonline.com and am enjoying the learning experience with that site plus I can learn other instruments on the same subscription which is handy.
