I doubt anyone would have tried both though they aren't going to be terribly different. The other thing to be aware of is that a lot of your experience of in-ears is about fit. If they fit your ear shape they sound better and because we are all different shapes we might have preferences based as much upon that as the nature of the in-errs themselves.
