I am of very little help as I never tried a Vintera but I have a Pickup from a Fender Classic 50s, which is described as very similar or sometimes almost identical to the vintera. It has a lot of very "dirty" 50s' growl. Somewhat bright although it also has a punchy bottom end. Truth to be told, it's bit too much. Too much personality, if it makes sense. I love it in a way but prefer a more "neutral" precision sound in practice

Yep, I had the predecessor, the Classic 50s, def a very forward in your face tone (with a pick), and a very wide (44mm) neck, albeit shallower. I’d think that playing one finger style would tone down the aggression but still leave it nice & punchy in the mix.

Great guitars.Had both the Classic and Vintera. Very well made, sounded ace but that wide neck didn't work for me. Took me a while to find out.I was going between several guitars at the time and most had jazz width necks. Maybe if I had had stuck at it...Player series great but not as good as my Squier Classic vibe p bass.

Best-looking bass it the store the day I tried it out.

Played it for a good fifteen minutes.

I have to say the tone was everything you'd want from a P bass..but it just didn't work for me.
Wasn't actually a comfort issue, wasn't simply the neck...it was something I couldn't quite put my finger on.
Funny thing is, I bought the Squier 40th-Anniversary Vintage P bass just last week...picked it up and knew without even plugging it in that I wasn't leaving the store without it.

(Sorry, not a fan of the Player series basses...and I've tried quite a few.)
