I can only assume that the double bass part was composed by Dolby, and Seligman plays fretless later in the track. It's a written bass part, non-repetitive which means transcribing the whole thing. Thomas Dolby didn't just make music he had to create the synthesisers, hardware, and software and storage medium and file formats.
