DHA VT3 Dual Custom Bass Pre-amp

An unexpected piece of trading has left me with a Demeter Tube Pre-amp, which I wasn't looking for or planning to buy, but now I've got it ... :)

Anyway, it's pushed my nearly-new VT3 out of my rig, which is a real shame because it's such a nice pre and it deserves better.

Piccies at: http://tinypic.com/useralbum.php?ua=38pY0B...ag1WChq0A%3D%3D

As you can see, this is a 1U rack-mounted pre dated Aug/Sep 2008. It's an almost-standard VT3 but with some customised bits:

(1) The custom paint job is designed to make it possible to use this on stage without needing my reading glasses, so words have been replaced by symbols; (2) and the blue/red paint-splash design has been replaced by ultra-clear yellow. (3) Dave also included a 'Tuner Out' socket at my request.

The pre has the original power supply and footswitch of course.

If you want to know more about what this unit can do, Dave Hall / DHA has his own website and 'Ask An Expert' forum at http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showforum=42

Call me if you are in possession of the piffling sum of £150.
Iv just got a couple of questions. Does the unit overdrive well? What do the G1, G2, Boo and Col knobs do on the front. What do all the rocker switches do on the right of the unit.

Cheers.
Dave's website probably explains a lot better than I can, BUT ...

1. Overdrive is what it chiefly does. It's absolutely brilliant at it.
2. G1 & G2 are Gain #1 and Gain #2, with G1 working on the Input level (I/P) and G2 feeding into the Overdrive (OD) circuit.
3. Boo is Boost, Col is Colour.
4. C1/C2 allows different coloration sounds but it's not something to flick when you're powered up. Si/Ge allows you to select a Silicon or Germanium sound. The 'sun' design is Brightness (clever, huh?).

The combination of 3 valves + 3 gain controls (G1, G2, OD) + separate input control + footswitch including true bypass + footswitch controlled FX loop = total control of the sonic space you occupy, both in the studio and live on stage.

Don't get me wrong on this - I'm selling it ONLY because the Demeter has taken me somewhere I didn't even know existed! It may be a while before you see another of these at this sort of money. :)

Really Really bad table cloth though mate!!! :)
Table cloth!

How dare you, sir!

That's the wall hanging (actually a 'throw' from Camden Market) that will hang behind the band at our next gig ...
That's a proper bargain that is. I don't have/use a rack but if I did I would be chewing your arm off. Colour matches my Markbass too!
Glad you noticed! As the cliche states, "it's priced to sell". This is too nice a unit to be sitting gathering dust.

I'm a relatively recent convert to racks myself - can't say I've regretted it.
