M-Audio Project mix 1/0 question

I've been given an M-Audio Projectmix 1/0.

I says it connects to my old iMac via a Firewire cable. Thing is, it appears there are different ones (4 pin, 6 & 9 pin) so, does anyone use one of these? (or shall I bin it?)

There's no manual, and the M-Audio site doesn't list it in the manuals section. Any help on how I can, or should, connect this up would be appreciated.

It does power up so I'm thinking it may be worth a try.

Thanks.

Don't bin it, but be prepared for a battle unless by luck you have a set of compatible software and hardware. I used mine quite happily until I moved to UAD about three years back, not only as an interface but also as a mixer. But you'll need to do a lot of reading and trial and error if you want to use it with anything vaguely recent in terms of software/hardware

I have Cubase Lite (version about 3 years old) which I believe will function with the M-Audio.  However, I don't know if my current Mac OS (Yosemite) will support it.

Thanks for the info and advice.

I'd be surprised, but then I've been surprised by many things over the years :)

Having said that, get onto Gearspace, there'll be a thread there for sure 👍
