Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 (edited) Ā I sold an acoustic guitar on reverb a couple of days ago so I parcelled it up the next day. It is in a snug fitting case but I didn't have a suitable cardboard box so I cut down an epiphone thunderbird box to parcel it up with lots of padding and parcel tape. The box has a thick end where the body goes and a thin end where the headstock is. I also wrote 'TOP' with an arrow pointing up on the thin end on both sides. Ā On the tracking app it shows as delivered with photographic proof, but as you can see from the printing on the box it has been left in the recipient's porch thin-end down. Ā I think it should be okay though - as long as no scrotes walk past and nick it. Edited March 4, 2022 by Jean-Luc Pickguard Quote
BigRedX Posted March 3, 2022 Posted March 3, 2022 That looks like the front door is open and the recipient's foot on the right. 2 Quote
Guest Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 I feel your pain. I once had a bass collected and watched the courierĀ launchĀ it into the back of his van. It was fine at the other end but I felt sick at the time! I have āFragileā tape wrapped around all my parcels but that just seems to be a target for couriers to handle it even more carelessly. Quote

Jean-Luc Pickguard Posted March 4, 2022 Author Posted March 4, 2022 Before it was delivered I noticed that the recipient had added a note to the tracking site to tell the driver to leave it in the porch, which to me sounded like there wouldnāt be anyone home during the day. Ā Iāve not heard anything from the recipient, so hopefully everything is okay. Quote
ThirteenDevils Posted March 4, 2022 Posted March 4, 2022 a few years back i bought a Tony Franklin fretless from ebay, to be delivered to the shop i work at. Bass is duly delivered.....in its origional hardcase, not evenĀ locked, just a packing slip stuck to the front. By some miracle the bass was still inside the case undamaged!Ā 1 Quote
