Replacement bridge for a Fender Americal Special P bass

I'm specifically looking for a slot load replacement bridge for my American Special P bass.

I am not looking for a high mass bridge or anything like that as I'm perfectly happy with a BBOT type bridge, but I do change strings quite a lot depending on what I'm playing / recording etc and when I'm putting used strings back on, a slot loading bridge is far less faff as I don't have to unwind the coil of string that was round the tuning head just to get it through the hole.

I think the Hipshot B style will fit on the Fender Special without any difficulties - but are there any other options?

As close to a BBOT in terms of weight as possible would be good.

Surely the simplest thing would be to modify the existing BBOT bridge to be slot loading?

A couple of hours work with a junior hacksaw and some files should do the job.

I did think about that but I was concerned that it would cause weakness and make it bend.

Is that not an issue?

The Aluminium Hipshot is 99g and those are 250g

250g is just over half a pound so the difference between them is 1/3 lb

Small numbers alone, but it would push my P up to 8lb rather than the 7 3/4 it is now. It's already the heaviest bass I play by far :D
