You can usually undo the peg screw and turn the worm key over... Keep an eye on the spring shim and plastic protector... The key is not designed to be removable. Believe me, I've had such a tuning machine fail on me and the key did not want to go back on after it was removed to find out WTF was going on. Duarte Posted February 11 Author Share Posted February 11 (edited) Quick update - After trying to replace the truss rod and breaking the fingerboard, we're back with a new fingerboard and a truss rod with a wheel.
