For sale is my six string, Ibanez BTB 556MP.

 

Great playing bass all over the neck - no issues achieving a lovely low action (although set at a medium height currently). With a 35" scale, the b string has a really nice tension consistent with the other strings. Only selling because I really don't need a 6 string and it's been sat unloved a long while.

 

The design of the neck heel and cutaway make for really good upper fret access. The spacing feels fairly wide for a 6 string - it's certainly not cramped and slapping is comfortable.

 

I'll miss the eq on this. Super versatile 3 band including sweepable mids. Full and warm sounding Bartolini pickups - I particularly value the fatness of the bridge pickup.

 

Playing this again with an eye to selling has reminded me what good quality the hardware is: the individual bridge units for each string, the solid feeling tuners and the handy locking jack socket.

 

It's in used condition - marks pictured. Most notable is the chewed up maple between the a and g strings (I learnt to slap on this bass).

 

Collection only I'm afraid. It's with me in York, but I would be happy to agree upon a meeting place convenient to both of us.

 

Currently has very old strings on but I'd be happy to change them before collection.

One of the biggest regrets of my G.A.S. was selling this exact model - which I had upgraded with a full USA Bartolini pipckup and preamp mod.  I am so broke, else I'd be all over this one... man, I miss this bass
