WITHDRAWN

I am selling my Korean "ProSeries StarBass 5 Gold Metallic CHR passive/passive MAP fretted" (that's Warwick's description). I am trying to play fretless more these days and this is just not getting played enough.

This is a passive instrument (no 9V batteries hurray) and is capable of "vintage" tones so it doesn't sound like a midrange-heavy solid-body Warwick. Serial number WPS B-000087-11 (2011 I think??).

Construction wise, it has a solid maple block down the centre and hollow wings. The neck is maple (but painted in luxurious gold) and the fretboard wenge. This has Just-A-Nut III on it so is adjustable at the nut. (Just-A-Nut II was prone to breaking so the III is better). It has volume and tone for each pickup, and a selector switch in the style of a Les Paul (neck, both, bridge).

I played this on 2 gigs but then the band disbanded and it's been safely at home for many years. As you can see, it is in tip-top/excellent condition, with the only minor issues being pictured:
a. slight decoloration of the tuning pegs (someone must have had sweaty hands before I bought it)
b. There is also a blemish on the neck paintwork but that's under the lacquer
c. There is a tiny slight mark above the neck pickup
d. There is a mark near the fifth fret that looks like a construction issue that was filled in.
e. Some slight marking on the pickup covers where enthusiastic playing has likely bashed a string onto the pickup cover (but it's under the string and I think you’ll struggle to see it)
All of these were like this when I bought it. All of these are pictured and I think you'll struggle to notice these.

This comes with a colossal excellent Warwick hardcase to keep this safe. This isn't pictured but is included. It’s a very good case!

I have priced this appropriately I think, given that it's a Korean Pro Series and NOT the Chinese RockBass series which seem to have increased in price somewhat (hasn't everything?), but sensible offers are welcome!

I enjoyed playing this bass a lot and will miss it but I need to be realistic. I would provide sound clips but there's plenty of demos by Andy Irvine back when he was working with Warwick on YouTube, if not somewhat slap-happy.

I am in Droitwich Spa, Worcestershire and would prefer not to ship this as it's massive and I have no cardboard to package it. I am happy to drive up/down the M5 a bit if this helps you for travel purposes. Worcestershire is in Tier 2 at the moment so I cannot travel to other locations.

Cash or Bank Transfer please. If you want to put it on a credit card and pay via PayPal you can but I shouldn't get any fees so you'll have to send it as a "gift" to friends/family. Thanks.

I should mention that although I do not have a box etc to ship it, I will happily pack it and send it if you want to arrange sending me a giant box / courier etc.

Also, if you feel the price is too high let me know and send me an offer! Offers really are welcome.

I used to have a gold one and now have a black one. Wonderful basses.

Any idea how much this one weighs?

Not sure on the weight, I will weigh it on my bathroom scales and post details. I never found it to be heavy particularly compared to solid bodies.

I know the case is like a coffin and is rather heavy.

I used to have a Korean black one, and also a German in Bubinga. The fancy wood on the German was stunning, but soundwise they were very similar. If this one was fretless, I'd be after it, very nice basses indeed. GLWTS!

I forgot, I had a Bubinga German one too. Apart from the fancy woodwork I couldn't tell any difference from the Korean versions (and I was afraid to take it out in case I dented it and knocked a couple of £k off the price).

Thanks for the well-wishes. It's a lovely bass and when I look at it I wonder if I am making the right decision...

Anyway I weighed it as best I could on the scales and it was 4.3kg. The case itself is something else!

I have had German Warwicks (albeit solid bodies) before and I can't really tell the difference with the build quality on this at all. I have tried Rockbasses before and they felt quite horrible, but this feels fine.

I've done a short demo video with my phone. Please excuse the poor playing. I am not driving the amp hard at all (it's on very very quiet) so you'll probably be playing far louder but hopefully it should give you some idea what this is like. The cab is a Bergantino HD210 so not neodymium magnets in the speakers.

Hello everyone

I can now ship this within the UK. I went to Halfords and got some giant boxes from bike shipments and so can wrap the case in cardboard. I also have a giant "loo-roll" of bubble wrap so the bass and case can be wrapped up and secured, and then cardboard placed around the outside.

I am not certain the cost of shipping but will find out if anyone is interested.

Thanks! Hope everyone is ok!

I am withdrawing this from sale for the moment due to lack of interest in the UK, and prohibitive costs of shipping to the EU.

Thank you all for your interest.

Can't say I blame you mate. The situation at the minute really sucks for everyone. 😞

Selling my Atelier Z Jerry Barnes M265. Top of the line, hand made in Japan, 70s style bass from Atelier. Bought new a few weeks ago and in literally "as new" condition. Fantastic instrument and craftsmanship, but selling as I'm much more of a 60s pickup position / alder body guy. Easily nails the 70s super jazz, Marcus Miller type of tone. It has an upgraded electronics package (including a passive tone knob), adding additional versatility. 70s type of sound but without the huge weight! (pretty light for an ash 5 string). Currently setup with quite low action with no buzz at all.
Jerry Barnes (Chic's bass player) signature model.
      Specs:
Neck : Maple with binding, 21 Frets
      Body : Ash
      Tuners : GOTOH
      Bridge : Vintage-type
      Pickups : ATELIER Z JBZ-5
      Preamp : ATELIER Z EQ-M
      Control : F vol, R vol/switch A/P, Passive Tone, Stacked Bass/Trenble
      Colour : Vintage Natural gloss
      Gig Bag: Padded deluxe
      Sring spacing at bridge: 19mm
      Weight: 4.5kg
      Plenty of feedback:

Hi Folks, for sale or trade is my very rare 2010 Warwick  $$ Limited Edition No 30/85. There is a pic of the spec sheet below. This bass has a nice slim very playable neck, all frets and hardware are in good condition. The combination of the Bartolini's and the MEC 3 band circuit is amazing the addition of the mid frequency control turns this into a complete tone beast. Comes with the Warwick tool kit and flight case. Recently strung with Elixir rounds. Weight is 4.5ish Kg on the bathroom scales
Would prefer collection from South West London though I can  also ship at buyers expense. If your interested I am sure we can sort something out. A socially distant try out is also welcome.
I am willing to discuss trades.
      Any questions please ask

      Cheers
      JBP

Picked this up a couple of months back to have another try with five strings. Not sure what I was thinking because I struggle with four so in light of some recent purchases I  think I will move this on.
      The Good Points
It's a good, solid 5 string bass which punches above it's weight. Body is Bubinga wood, fingerboard is Rosewood. The neck is super flat and really nice to play. Hardware and pickups are by Wilkinson. The four pots are Volume, Tone, Bass, and Pickup Blend.
      The Bad Points
It has a few marks and dings (the previous owner toured Europe with it) but nothing major, just general, light, wear and tear.
When I picked it up, it had a really low output, and the pickup blend pot was crackly when adjusted. On inspection, the battery had leaked and corroded the battery clip, so I replaced that and stuck in a new 9v which sorted the output issue. I haven't gotten around to fixing the pot yet. It may just need a squirt of cleaner, or it may need a replacement soldering in, both of which should be pretty simple and are reflected in the price.
Price is £125. This does not include shipping but does include a crap Fender gig bag to carry it home in. Shipping could possibly be arranged. I have a box, and can upgrade to a better more padded gigbag, but this will push the price to £160.
I would also consider a trade for a high end (Mono, Sadowsky) gig bag with money either way.
Socially distanced collection or viewing is welcome, as is PayPal if fees are covered.
      Any questions, please ask.

      *Price Drop £325*

For sale/ trade here is my Cort Bass GB75 JH in Trans black
Owned for about two years, played many shows and recorded with it but I'm no longer in a hardcore band, so I don't need a 5 string.
Omega Bass bridge Seymour Duncan Quarter Pound J-Bass pickup in the neck Hipshot Ultralite Machine heads Swamp Ash Body 2 Band EQ, pickup selector, volume Maple neck (with a nice flame maple) Humbucker in the back ( great stingray tone) Spoke wheel truss rod adjustment (like those on musicman basses) comes with gig bag Ideally I'd like to trade it for a bass in the same price range (preferably fretless)

Few nicks here and there on the body, and a few up the neck but nothing noticeable.
The battery cover on the back came off unfortunately.
one of the tuning pegs is slightly bent, but works perfectly still.
The neck pickup is a bit temperamental due to soldering work, but its a 2 minute fix to re-solder the wire - I just don't have access to a soldering iron right now.
Other than that, it's in full working order and good condition
