Precision bass wiring variations

I've six different Precisions and four different wiring variations. Only one has been modified, by me!

Anyway, I've a 72 Precision with an additional green capacitor soldered over the volume pot.  This is in addition to the more regular .05 capacitor..

I'll try to get some photos but does anyone have any idea if this is standard, or a common mod from a particular time? i've never seen it before.

Looks like an attempt at adding a treble bleed cap to the vol control to reduce loss of high frequencies when vol is backed off.

yeah looking around a bit that's a definite possibility.

It’s a cap

Yup now I've photos I agree, I was going off memory before. The treble bleed sounds very feasible, I always thought it was a bit brighter than my '75 anyway...
