I did, Chris, but I forgot! I even commented on it at the time, didn't I? What a prat. The funny thing was, I remember thinking 'I thought I had already done that' but I now realise that I hadn't. You had!! Well that's a few hours of my life I won't get back!! What am I like?

 

I do check your thread every time I see something come in for this very reason. One got through (Seriously, though. If I had remembered, I wouldn't have bothered and just pointed them in your direction - I see Tom Read and you and I as 'all in this together', rather than as competition).

Oh, I absolutely didn't mean it like that. Transcribe whatever you feel like transcribing. I like to compare and learn. As you said before "The more the merrier!"

Another quick one, the complete Jeff Berlin part for 'J.F.K.' from the 1986 Kazumi Watanabe album, 'The Spice Of Life'. Another one of the more accessible Berlin performances that most of us should be able to pull off.

Another Watanabe/Gwizdala moment, the tune is 'Perfect Water' from the 2011 recording 'Tricoroll'. Horacio Hernandez completes the trio on drums. You have got a chance with most of this as there is nothing too crazy going on.

I am really proud of this one. The tune is 'Emerald Tears' from the 1978 Dave Holland solo album of the same name. This is a challenging piece to write down. There is an explanation on the website of what my thinking was when putting this down on (virtual) paper.

A bit of high power silliness, the Jaco Pastorius bass part for the Buster Brown tune 'Fannie Mae' from the 1982 Big Band album 'Twins'. Just great fun.

I am sure there are already loads of these out there but proceeded with it nevertheless. The live version of 'Three Views Of A Secret' from the 1982 Jaco Pastorius Word Of Mouth Big Band album, 'Twins'. Some real challenges in the transcribing of this one due to Jaco's tasty double stops.

When i first listened to this one on laptop (no headphones) i thought it was a fretless bass playing the lead line. When i opened the music i was reading almost straight 8ths. Now i have headphones on i can hear the actual bassline.

Nice song. Not heard much of Pat Metheny group but that is very nice.

That lead could possibly be done on a fretless i reckon. ? What do you think Rob ?

Another Rodby one that came to mind after doing the one above. The tune is 'Dream Of The Return' from the 1989 PMG Group album, 'Letter From Home'.
