Dubs Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 If you've got the cash then go for the CL. If you've got a really heavy cab then I'm guessing that you won’t mind a really heavy head. There’s nothing like the sound that an Ampeg 8x10 produces when it’s being driven by an all valve Ampeg head. chris_b Posted December 4, 2008 Share Posted December 4, 2008 I've used an SVT3 and it sounded great. I also have a DVD of the Meters and George Porter is using a GK head with his Ampeg 8x10. ashevans09 Posted December 6, 2008 Share Posted December 6, 2008 I would go with the CL if I had to choose between the two, however the best bass tone I've ever heard through an Ampeg 810E was with an Orange AD-200B / Mk3.
