bubinga5 Posted January 11, 2019 Posted January 11, 2019 From one great bass player to another it may seem. As you might expect some monster bass playing from a master.Ā Ā 3 Quote
ezbass Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Love Abeās use of flamenco technique.Ā You can see where Abe Jr learnt about attack from.Ā Quote
Delberthot Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 (edited) I'mĀ a fan of Abe Sr but I thoughtĀ that the melody sounded out of tune a lot of the time and I had to stop listening. Shame because it's a really nice sounding bass Edited January 12, 2019 by Delberthot Quote
Chris2112 Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 A great player, no doubt, despite a few sharps and flats there. Those black nylon strings sound really hokey though, particularly in the higher registers where they sound like elastic bands.Ā Quote
Guest Posted January 12, 2019 Posted January 12, 2019 Aside from the slightly flaky tuning (and I agree that the tapewounds donāt sound great) what effortless playing. Very interesting right hand, damped the low B perfectly but very fluid and smooth, yet lots of thump. Iāve heard lotsĀ of great tracks with his playing on but not paid attention when watching him play before. Thanks! Quote
