NancyJohnson Posted April 24 Author Posted April 24 (edited) I suppose just to combine a post elsewhere, here's my two. They're both (apparently) 1986 models, an FBIV and a Cruisebass. In January, I had the scratchplate done for the Cruisebass. [EDIT] One of the pickups was dead on the Cruise and the loom was toast, so it has an EMG Geezer Butler PJ set on it and a John East preamp. The FBIV is pretty much stock, but I swapped out the chrome bridge and machines to like for like black units. I also had a flat jackplate made by a local guy (to rid it of the Stratocaster style one that was on it). Lovely, lovely! Edited April 25 by NancyJohnson 3 Quote

warwickhunt Posted April 25 Posted April 25 Collection only. With flights and taxes it'd still end up being $5.5 - $6k... I really need to find one in the UK. Quote

zbigniew Posted April 26 Posted April 26 Got this Hamer Chaparral Bass two years ago. I like it Made 1991 I believe. Aftermarket Seymour Duncan pickups, not the original EMGs. I found it in the classifieds here locally (Iceland). It was left for some time without a bag or case in a loft of a youth center. The janitor looked for it with me on every floor until we found it behind an old drum set on the top floor. The owner was out of town at the time and needed the janitors help in finding it. From the moment I played it unplugged with old strings it was clear that this is a quality instrument, it resonates and plays well. I would love to own a Cruise bass, I remember when version 2 came out and got a perfect review in Bass Player. 4 Quote
