Phil Starr
Anyone any experience with one of these? I'm thinking of buying one so I can do silent practice when I'm away from home, though of course I'll try it with the amps. Playability will be more important than the sound but obvoiusly a decent sound would be interesting too. What do you think, a worthwhile purchase? sblueplanet
I had the lined fretless version. I found the piezo weak volume-wise and the overall tone a bit thin for my liking but super lightweight and a nice feel from the neck. Not a bad purchase if bought 2nd hand. Phil Starr
Thanks, I usually put the bass through the B1ON so volume shouldn't be a problem. Is this a thin sound through the supplied headphones or through an amp?
casapete
I had a fretted one a few years back Plus points - quirky design, light/portable, played well. Didn't feed back like an A/E bass does. Minus points - not the best output/tonal variation ( both through phones & amp ) Some string imbalance issues too IIRC. Great things if you need the portability and like the novel format, and they seem to be quite a reasonable s/h buy.
