resprays

does anyone know a good resprayer/refinisher in the midlands? I have a CIJ 62 Ri jazz bass that I bought from OldGit and I wondered how much to restore its 3 colour sunburst glory. I'm happy to strip it down/sand it back to save money.

Also does anyone know if its cellulose paint or not?

What? Remove all that fab mojo? :) Oh well ...
Jon Shuker will do it for you. Brilliant job (you should see my P5) but probably a bit of a wait ..

Is S. Yorkshire in the Midlands?

I thought Shuker was in Derbyshire now?

Anyway, I knew that the Shuker name would be uttered as soon as I opened this thread.

Pressure from above, OldGit, as we discussed.

S yorkshire is fairly close as I'm near the border anyway.

Not sure my retinas can cope with that. I've emailed Mr Shuker for a vague estimate. A colleague at work mentioned him anyway so tahts two sources. thanks folks.
I had a jap Fender resprayed at Morgan motors (Malvern) but I don't have any contacts there any more.
Just as a general query - has anyone else approached a car body sprayer to refinish a bass? It seems to me that this is a potentially cheap way of getting a respray if you're prepared to do the errrr... preparation. Especially as the current economic climate probably means places will be more likely to consider jobs they might not have thought of before.

It's a fairly involved task - believe me! His clears are like a mirror and flatter than flat!
