FS is a recently acquired PJB rig comprising of the BG150 Flightcase 150w 4x5 and the PB300 250w powered 6x5 cab. I bought both in a moment of intense GAS and with a few gigs in mind, and as it turned out, I used neither, sticking with my PJB Briefcase for the very small gigs and trusty old Ampeg for the larger ones. I have other uses for the cash invested in these at present so off they go.

PJB watts are, of course, slightly smaller in quantity but significantly better in quality than the norm. The Flightcase has two forward facing and two upward facing speakers, making it an extremely useful monitor as well as combo, especially with DB. The PB300 has the huge advantage of being in effect a lightweight and tall 250w combo (for some reason I prefer tall and think to low and wide), that is it will take a passive bass signal albeit with no tonal options, but put an active bass or a pedal in front of it (as I do with both DB and acoustic guitar), and it sounds absolutely superb. Independently or in combination they're pretty impressive. It goes without saying that they work very wel with a range of instruments also.

The PB300 was bought new from Bassgear http://www.bassgear....00-powered-cab/, the Suitcase from here http://basschat.co.u..._fromsearch__1. New from Bass Direct the rig would cost in the region of £1400 http://www.bassdirec.../PJB_PB300.html and http://www.bassdirec...Flightcase.html, although it looks like no-one's got the PB300 in stock at present. I'll take £850 posted, which is a decent price for a very decent sounding and very portable 400w rig. I'll also split, £325 for the Flightcase, £525 for the PB300 (both posted). PB300 also comes with a cover BTW.

Life is what happens whilst you're waiting to make your mind up :) A two PB300 rig with the Cub on top would be something though......

Stop it! Mind you a 14x5 rig would move some air :D

Ah Mr Ezra, I'd thought I'd find you here! Suits you sir, you know you want to. That flightcase was a very sweet deal.
Quite tempted by the PB300 myself, but as I have already one (and a pair of C8s) adding another PB300 would be completely OTT even for extravagant GAS problem!
As Mrs Doyle would say - Go wan, Go wan, Go wan!

Yes, possibly even bi-amped/stereo air.......

Other option I was considering here was that of buying another and using them as PA for small gigs when the need arises, I'm pretty sure they'd do a damn decent job given how good they sound with guitars and other instruments. Any experience?

No, I haven't tried that at all. However, given the pure and accurate reproduction (mine revealed a technique shortcoming in short order that I'd not heard before with other rigs) I think the results would be rather good.

Ha ha, not sure we need a PA with the potential to reveal shortcomings :)

I have something to pay for so will accept £475 posted for this. It's 100% as new, has probably been played less than most shop floor models - and no doubt at lower volumes, it will be sent in all original packaging with original documentation, and is a bloody bargain :)
