The video provided to sell this bass is one of the worst i have seen. I think he is trying to play a guitar.

Bass VI videos seem to vary in quality considerably. The video on that ebay listing doesn't demonstrate the bass side of that instrument, but I don't think it's horrible.

E.g. This is IMHO even less impressive than your bass VI video.

When I played The Hand of John Curley's Gretsch (effectively a Bass VI I think) it was a very flexible instrument. Too many bass VI videos miss out the 'bass' part of that flexibility. This video perhaps shows the capabilities of the instrument better.

But, are those upper strings all in tune?

In this video, there's a variety of stuff, including 'bass'. I'm not sure that this guy is getting into he groove for the bass line though. and there's quite a lot here that makes me not want to buy a Squier Bass VI.

The video is one of the many ways of using a Bass VI.

At the moment I've got my Squier VI tuned D#-G#-C#-F#-B-E and I'm trying to play bajo sexto lines on it.

Otherwise I tune it E-A-D-G-B-E and double an upright bass line playing with a pick and a little tremolo.

You can successfully play 'normal' bass lines on it too - especially if you don't object to the very narrow string spacing.

Or retune it A-D-G-C-E-A, call it a baritone guitar, and ... well, play guitar.

Very versatile.

[/quote] It is probably a good instrument. If i was trying to sell it, i just would have used one of AT`s video`s, possibly the second. It seems to demonstrate the instrument a lot better.
