Personally i would go

Tuner > DI/PRE-AMP > Compressor > Octaver > Envelope > Fuzz
I always have my tuner first so it gets the best signal from my bass and has nothing in between to interfere. then the rest is really just up to you. depends if your going to want to compress your fuzz etc.

but honestly, i don't use a compressor. So i would say the sock drawer :D

I'd put the envelope filter before the compressor since it works off the dynamics of the note played. I'd have the tuner first in the chain. Presumably you want the DI to have all of the effects fed into it so have it last. Fuzz and octave after the compressor. (Sits back and waits to be corrected )

I ended up putting the compressor last in the chain under the logic that I could use it to shape the tone after fuzz/envelope has screwed around with it.

It didn't even cross my mind that having the Pre-amp first would mean if I used it as a DI it wouldnt send my effects to the front desk?

I have a DI on my amp anyway.. Suppose I'll just use it there and swap if need be later :)

Same reason I put my compressor post envelope - envelope responds to amplitude changes in bass output, compressor smooths peaks from envelope.

But ultimately this :

as long as it sounds good to you keep it where you feel it works best!
