Budget is a bit limited so I have mainly been looking at the Squier Matt Freeman model. I have ended up on the Bass Centre website and was wondering if anyone knows what the Power/Jive bass models they do are like? I like the look of the Red + Maple frankenstein power bass but have never seen any of these in the flesh. Ktmman Posted April 9, 2014 Share Posted April 9, 2014 I used to have an original 90s mij "bass collection " which had fantastic build quality. That said, there have been several revivals of the Bass Collection name since the Japanese company Nanyo closed around 1996....... I was asked by friend to find a first bass for his daughter . A local music shop had a brand new Bass Collection(Bass Centre) jazz hanging on the wall for quiet a while which was probably due to colour ,a dusky pink metallic... I managed to get it for £170.. Feel and finish was very good and when I briefly plugged it in to my ABM combo I was gutted that it sounded as good as a well known brand of bass I had paid 7x as much for........
