dannybuoy Posted February 6, 2014 Share Posted February 6, 2014 64's, 74's, 84's, Hammers? I have a pair of Wizard jazz pickups here but I've no idea what type. The only identifying marks on them is a N and B on the neck and bridge pups respectively. The Wizards site is no longer running which makes identification difficult, I don't know if Mr Wizard is replying to emails these days of if anyone on here knows him. Is there any way to tell what these are? I could measure their DC resistance which I suppose may help, I shall dig out my multimeter tomorrow! brensabre79 Posted February 6, 2014 Share Posted February 6, 2014 Resistance will help, mainly because that is pretty much the difference between the '64 and '84 models. They may also be a custom wind of course. Mine are "'74's" because I asked for something in between the two, with a fatter bridge pickup for my 70's spacing I also have a standard '84B sitting in a box... there is no visual difference at all! They are '84s - in which case I think I will hang onto them, if I was going to build a bitsa I it was the heavier overwound sort I would be after!
