As far as I know the pickup has three split coils and the fiveway selector gives you options between these coils. Good bass, the frets are a bit worn but it's my Precision bass of choice. Does the choice of one, two or three coils make a lot of difference compared to placement (ie bridge or neck) or does it just get more aggresive, if you know what I mean? Gnermo Posted November 3, 2013 Share Posted November 3, 2013 To be fair, I'm not sure which positions select the different coils. I can't find a manual online, maybe I can email Yamaha about it.
