Anyone dealt with Sound Control recently since they started having their problems?? Anyone managed to knock them down a little with the price?

Looking at this bass

http://www.soundcontrol.co.uk/mod_1/pages/...2.1.1-110-13647

Have one of the old bolt on NS2000's which is well made and I wouldn't mind another Spector. Anyone have experience of the Euro bolt on models.

Thanks in advance.

I got an e-mail today saying that "Reverb" have taken over 6 of the stores. Bristol, Birmingham, Leicester, Stockton, Sheffield & Glasgow

"Reverb" turn out to be part of Arbiter, who distribute Fender (amongst others) in the UK. Makes sense if Sound Control owed you large amounts of money you might as well take over the stock and try to sell it yourself !!

Not only that, but Arbiter have taken over the distribution of Spector and Schecter, so it's very likely the Reverb stores will carry them.
Arbiter do not distribute Fender in the UK anymore - haven't done for quite a few years now....
(in fact, they don't appear to distribute much of note at all these days IMO).
Apart from REMO, Spector etc.... :)

Best bet is to get along to one of the new six Reverb stores, try out a Spector ReBop and take advantage of their special introductory 20% off!

Spector ReBops have a great and well deserved reputation for being lightweight, well made, powerful and punchy! You may find a little neckdive, but nothing that can't be countered with a decent strap....

I picked my Spector up at Sound Control in Preston in February. Apparently it had been ordered in for someone else who had paid the deposit but then never turned up to buy it when it arrived, so it went on general sale. When I bought it it was meant to be on layaway until the next day when someone was coming in to buy it, but because he hadn't paid a deposit they let me buy it instead (and didn't even blink when I started haggling)!

Shame to see Reverb aren't reopening the Newcastle or Preston SC stores, means it will be hard to get my hands on more Spectors, saying as Guitar Guitar are utter cack and don't have any!

http://www.reverb-store.co.uk/ is the splash page. It's a data-capture excercise, preceeding a full-blown site. Well it can't be any worse than the old SC website, which was my least favourite site to use out of all the music gear e-tailers. I suggest they ask end-user opinions about what we need in a website in terms of navigation etc.

Reverb are offering a 20% discount on EVERYTHING in their shops...........don't know how long it lasts, but it clearly states EVERYTHING IN THE SHOP - NO EXCEPTIONS ( their words not mine ) so I reckon that over a cool ton off one if you can find one in stock somewhere..............get on the blower.
