I want to replace the Badass II bridge I have on my Geddy Lee bass for a black one, I know you can find black Badass brudges but they are bl**dy expensive!

Has anyone tried these?

Another option is the Gotoh 201 but I have read that getting a low action might be difficult?

Last option I have in mind is going with a traditional Fender type of bridge, which one do you recommend?

Thanks for your help in advance.

I`ve not tried one of those, but it looks much like the Gotoh and the new Fender Hi-Mass bridges. The Gotoh for me was better than the Badass due to the looks, more in keeping with the regular Fender bridges. I could get the action down as far as I wanted (3mm at 12th fret) no worries.

I have never had any problems achieving a low action with the Gotoh 201 bridge on Fender basses...I think its a great bridge...but they are getting pricey.

Now, here is the thing. I have one of those black bridges lying around that you are looking at on ebay - I removed it from a Yamaha Attitude on a refurb I did a couple of years ago. It is a good unit for the price and works well. Mine is in a very good used condition. I will sell it to you delivered for £8.

Let me know if you are interested via a PM.

I'd switch to a Babicz Full Contact bridge if I were you. I put a Badass II on my J-bass back in '82, but now I'll change.
