(instead of listening and playing the same old rock stuff) Lately ive become transfixed on Jazz and Jaco Pastorius.. his technique and tone amazes me, Can anyone recommend me some other Jazz artists or Jazz bass players i should check out? thisnameistaken Posted March 31, 2013 Share Posted March 31, 2013 The jazz players who interest me are all upright players, so Paul Chambers, Charles Mingus, Ray Brown, Scott La Faro, Milt Hinton, Ron Carter, Charlie Haden, etc. All of the bebop stuff features clever bass. I like the early latin-flavoured material and the Chick Corea Elektric Band.
