The Farida Fretless started out as a bog standard (allbeit a great one) Farida FJB-6 Jazz Copy.

This Thread;

Explains how I co designed a Fretless bass with Farida which ended up being shelved, but I came out with 2 fretless basses, my decision was to make one fretted.

I bought a White FJB-6 and removed the fretted neck, and replaced the neck with one of the fretless prototype necks.
I fitted Seymour Duncan 1/4lb pickups.

The neck is Maple, with an Ebony, partially lined fingerboard - It's vintage tinted, just like the Squier Classic Vibe basses which are made by Grand Reward/Farida for Squier.

It's about 9lb's, balances well, and sings - Currently wearing D'addario Chromes.

This bass really is a fantastic fretless and knocks bells out of the Mexican Standard Fender Fretless, and when I compared it to a 2009 ish USA Standard fretless jazz, it easily held it's own, and the Ebony fingerboard really made it smoother to play.

The fretless is wearing one of only two Farida FJB fretless necks in existence...

So, i'm thinking £300 for this one.

Pics are available via e-mails, or even by picture message on mobiles.

It's available to view in Manchester - And Shipping is an option, but will be an additional cost.

Bank Transfer preferred.
Cash on collection is fine too.

Paypal...If you cover the fees.

Happy to answer any questions and will entertain trades on...

TC electronic BH250 and Cabs of 2x10/2x8/1x12 nature.

Thanks

Trav

It occurred to me, having read right through the build thread, that the polish answer was sitting on my windowsill looking at me. It's called Greygate Plastic Polish, and is designed for use on Lucite aircraft canopies and domes. We also used to use it as lot on Lucite noticeboards, rto polish off Cjinagraph markings. Not easy to get hold of - you need to find an aerospace supplier. So I looked it up one day, and found there was just such a supplier in, of all places, Okehampton. Why? Anyhoo, it works a treat on most plastics, and there is even a formulation for nitrocellulose plastics!

Oh, PM'd, by the way!

Spotted a small epifani cab I'd like a lot, which is priced in the region of what this bass is up for sale for.

I will set up a photo bucket account and see if I can upload pics; this bass is so much better than the Squier Vintage modified equivalent and knocks a mexi standard fretless into a cocked hat; I just don't need two fretless basses, and the space would be handy...
