I've been playing 5 strings for ages and recently bought a new one so i don't want to spend a ton on a gamble. I've found some really cheap ones, but can't really tell if they are any good. The 3 I found are Stellah, Gear4music and Redwood RM6 Can anyone offer any info? Don't know anything about these basses but you will get what you pay for. BGM did a review of the[url="http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SHINE-SB26-LEFT-HANDED-EXTREME-BASS-GUITAR-6-STRING-/120878838091#vi-content"] Shine 6 string[/url] recently and quite liked it with the caveat of you get what you pay for. Kongo Posted November 12, 2012 Share Posted November 12, 2012 Peavey Grind and Ibanez SR series...BTB Series if you prefer wider spacing. Any cheaper than those I don't think are worth going into. Ibanez basses are [i]inexpensive[/i], but they are not [i]cheap[/i] (IMO, of course). I've been using one as my main bass for the last year and love it even though it was relatively inexpensive. Mog Posted November 13, 2012 Share Posted November 13, 2012 Stay away from the Stellah and G4M basses. They're not good in any way. As was said above look at Peavey and Ibby. Dean would also be another brand to consider. I picked up a Brice a couple of years ago for next to nothing, certainly less than £100 AFAIR. The stock preamp was a little too brittle for my liking so I threw a Glockenklang 2 band in it. Sounds and plays like a bass in the £500 price range. If you can find one give it a serious look.
