hi guys

recently having dramas with my brand new Warwick corvette. It's the 5 string passive model
The input jacks been playing up, first the 2 leads actually joining onto the input jack unit came off, so re-soldered those, but when the jack is fully plugged in theres no output? When the jack is only half plugged in it works
Any ideas whats wrong?

cheers!

Most Warwick basses are active, so have a stereo jack socket to disconnect the battery when the lead is unplugged. I would guess that, although your bass doesn't need a stereo jack, that's what they've fitted so as to standardize parts. But that means you've got to choose the right 2 out of the 3 tags.

On the other hand, since the Warwick sockets are awful and don't last very long, you're probably better off going to Maplins, buying a long-barrel MONO socket, and then the wiring will be obvious.

There she is! There seems to be three places to connect the wire, there's 2 loop hole prongs and one long one where the black wire's connected.
I've also been looking on Maplin for a new socket, but the guys in there talk a different language , am i looking for something like this?

No. The closest thing to what you want that I can find on the Maplin site is this:

If the black wire is ground then it seems to be on the right tag. You could try moving the white wire to the other small tag. This would be so much easier if I was there with a multimeter!

You can get those long barrel sockets from WD but even then you need to work out which connection is what!
