thunderider
i use an 118 atm wich gives me what i require live, but ive been using a 212 in rehersal and been plugging in a115 wich tbh has been giving me some great toned bottom,i also used last week n ashdown 300w with ashdown 410 and wasnt impressed with this, but the week before i used my 150 laney on a 412 marshall and it was fookin awsome,im toying with putting 212's back in the cab and getting some more12's and going with 412... Mr. Foxen
They sound pretty similar, just each has a little bit more and one end an a bit less at the other. Together, they reinforce the overlap because they act the same there, and you get the bit more at both ends.
3below
Most gigs with a bass player on a 15 will have that typical sound..and it may not be that good...will struggle to keep focus..will put out decent volume or more but will be too unsutble when the bass is being pushed
Those using Barefaced Big One 15 + 6.5 mid range or Greenboy 15/6 fEARful designs would probably disagree. I find the two 15s in Barefaced Dubster just amazing, clarity, subtlety and detail. The best bit is it maintains from quiet to ground shaking volume. As ever with all things speaker, try them, and then try at the volume you will be using.
StraightSix
Anyone know what would work well with a Promethean given that the ext. cabs are impossible to get hold of?
I have a Promethean and I would suggest you first try it as a standalone for smaller gigs and rehearsals, then use the head with your 4ohm 212 for bigger gigs and 500W. The Promethean extension cabs are still available: http://www.gak.co.uk/en/ibanez-promethean-p110c-speaker-cabinet/48939 or, if you're feeling flush, a Barefaced Midget works well. thebuckets
I rang gak they're not in stock and they're waiting for a date of a delivery so that might not even happen. Anyone else used a midget with a promethean?

Just wondered if there was a smaller lightweight cab to add to get a similar sound to the
