3V17C
ok so ages ago i saw some vid of an American bass player, black dude, playing a Spector i think, with really odd technique where he has his bass well high and his right hand reaches up from under the body playing kinda upside down..... you've probably seen him before on youtube etc, but i can't for the life of me remember his name or seem to find him on google.... cheers C

leftyhook
That's just silly. I bet he developed that technique jut to show off on youtube. I mean, who would grow a white beard just to rest on their chest while playing guitar? Pardon? Bass player?.....
Gust0o
I guess it's one of those things. If you approached a bass, without knowing how you were supposed to hold it, I imagine his cradling would be reasonably intuitive. It reminds me of the an old rifle sling. There are quite a few videos on Youtube where he explains how his style developed, well worth a look.
dave_bass5
I think there was a thread about this guy on here recently, unless there's more than one player who plays like this.

xgsjx
Has he looked at himself playing that bass? He looks like he has "special needs".
