Building a Musicman Stingray 5 String Bass

Hey guys,

Pretty much what it says on the tin.

I've got a stingray body knocking around from an old Harley Benton bass,

And seeing as I can't afford a real stingray bass I decided that I was going to build one instead :)

I need to know where I could pick up a musicman 5 stringer neck from!!

Where would the best place to pick one up?

And what do you guys recommend for electrics in it?

And bridges? Where can I pick them up?

Regards

Tj

Necks can often be found on ebay as many people upgrade Ray necks to carbon fibre ones.

As far as electronics go, I'd be really tempted to go for one of the DIY 2-band kits, especially if you're on a really tight budget. Finding original parts is going to be a nightmare as EBMM do not sell spares meaning most MM basses tend to remain original.
But you might find some cheapie bits and bobs here. :)

You could also find a perfect replacement preamp made my Nostrand as per this link: http://www.notreble.com/buzz/2011/12/03/nordstrand-releases-pre-ernie-ball-music-man-inspired-2b-mm-preamp/
