The time has come where I want to start changing the pickups in my jazz as I've become unhappy with the sound I'm getting from it! I love the bass but I'm just unhappy with how it's sounding! What pick ups would you recommend putting in there? And do I go active or stay passive?

How does the new Squier stack up against your Fender USA and Japanese instruments? By the way, the reason I bought my Squier Deluxe Jazz Active was I'd read that more than a few people (mostly over on Talkbass) said it blew away far more expensive basses!

Very nicely thankyou! It's obvisously less money than my fenders but playing it you wouldn't realise it as it feels 2x price it should be!! It's a beautiful playing bass!! And Im very happy with it!

You own both MIA and MIJ Jazz basses....
[/quote]
Yes true I do but it still keeps up with them in terms of feel and playability.
And just because it's a massive fraction of the price compared to my other two jazzes doesn't mean that it's terrible! As the neck has made it an easy jump from 4 to 5.
And just because I own a MIA and MIJ, I have been picking the Squier a whole lot more than the others.
Here are my two new beautiful new basses!
First up is my new sterling s.u.b ray 4 have to say one of the nicest basses I've ever played to be honest, the neck feels perfect in my hands!
Next up is my new Ashton electro-acoustic bass! Don't know much about it but it certainly plays nice!
So a happy Tj!
Sorry for sh*tty iPhone pictures!
hey guys,
I have this bass that's not really doing much at the moment and is just hanging around on its guitar stand,
I was wondering what the going rate for this bass 2nd hand, it's a massive shame for it to go to waste!
Cheers
Tj
Looks incredible! What a fantastic looking bass!
And have nothing great words for tom Waghorn and his fellas in the workshop! they set up my basses and did the modifications on them!
Hey guys,
I've joined a band and they're first song to get things kicked off is the title name now as you guys are aware John Entwistle is an astonishing bassist! And im having trouble getting the bass line down,
Im gunna be a cheap skate and is there any easier way of playing the bass line?
Cheers
Tj
I got my treble between 2 and 3, mids on 9 and bass on 9. That gives me the fattest tone ever! With the jazz bass 's tone rolled off to about 85%,
its the perfect tone for my sound!

Just out of interest....If you've tried one and liked, what does it it matter what anyone else thinks
of them?
For what it's worth,I've got a Classic Vibe '50's Precision and have no problem using it on
gigs. It's a really tidy bass.

Just wanted to see what peoples opinions were on them was all
the one I played was really nice, bit of fret buzz on the 7th fret but the owner said he'll dress it up for no extra cost! which i thought was a bargain but was impressed by its how it was put together and overall finish! . how much was your second hand one mojo?
