Hey everbody im selling my brand new gibson thunder, never played live with it and its only been out of the box 3 times, Once when i 1st got it to make sure it was right and the others to take pics,

Ive always played the thunderbird and have 4 epiphone ones and a Gibson which got Damaged and by the time it was replaced from Gibson the band stopped playing :-( and its way to nice of a bass to be stuck under my bed,

So, Gibson Thunderbird, £1000 o.v.n.o, on the tag it says it was made on the 21/8/2011

Seriously though, if anyone is viewing this and 'thinking' of buying this bass, then just go for it.
I have 3 pretty decent basses, and I gotta say the Thunderbird is by far the best.

I probably use mine for a slightly different style of music to 'Uncle Rotter', but nevertheless they are fantastic basses.
If I ever hit hard times, then my Thunderbird would definitely be the last to go.

Best of luck with the sale mate.

If my memory serves me well, 11141 on the serial number means the neck was stamped on the 114th day of 2011, which is May 24th. the 0315 means it was the 315th neck made by Gibson to be stamped on that day. The 21/08/11 on the tag is the date on which the Bass was inspected.

edit: spelling

Cheers who's who, yeah Cambridge Folk Festival needed rocking up lol :)

Thanks Billyapple dint know that about the serial number, The old one got knocked at home and split the head, i was insured but it took so long due to (i'm told) floods at Gibson HQ, The bands not split per say BUT we have nothing booked at the moment and if you goolge uncle rotter or go on youtube you'll see i have a few different bass's as this is new i may as well sell this one as its far to good to be just kept under the bed.

Don't give it away, pal. I reckon that's a very decent price. It's Christmas, tho. Hang tight 'till Jan for the folk who got cash from Santa.

[/quote] I don't get my money from the Army after retirement until then at which point I am buying a new Thunderbird. If I line the pockets of someone NOT gibson then i am most happy but such is life. Hope you shift it soon. Merry xmas.
