A borrowed one from a friend and my newly acquired one. However I have been putting them through a small cheap guitar practice amp........please tell me that a good bass amp will make a massive difference ? thanks and apologies for the stupid question but sometimes just a little confirmation is a good guide to progress. You can pick up something second hand that will last you a good few years for the same money as a starter kit from a shop that you'll outgrow in less than a year if you're serious about it. OutToPlayJazz Posted March 27, 2008 Share Posted March 27, 2008 Depends on whether you're feeling ready to gig yet, or not. If you're just playing at home, a 30W Roland Bass Cube is just the tricket. Amazing little piece of kit! But if you're looking to do smaller gigs sooner rather than later, I'd be looking at something like an Ashdown Electric Blue 180w combo.
