Hi all
I know i am a newbie and probably this is a really daft questoin ...but.....I have been playing bass for only a few months. A borrowed one from a friend and my newly acquired one. However I have been putting them through a small cheap guitar practice amp........please tell me that a good bass amp will make a massive difference ?

thanks and apologies for the stupid question but sometimes just a little confirmation is a good guide to progress.

+1

It's not cheap but great fun and will help you learn.

There are always plenty of bass combos on ebay to suit most pockets. You can pick up something second hand that will last you a good few years for the same money as a starter kit from a shop that you'll outgrow in less than a year if you're serious about it. A few that caught my eye by reputable manufacturers are here:

Depends on whether you're feeling ready to gig yet, or not. If you're just playing at home, a 30W Roland Bass Cube is just the tricket. Amazing little piece of kit! But if you're looking to do smaller gigs sooner rather than later, I'd be looking at something like an Ashdown Electric Blue 180w combo. They're both in the same price range at under £200.
