I bought his first solo CD back in the mid '90s and it was full of insanely flashy technique that sounded like sh*t, he must've practiced that stuff endlessly. So is he saying that he agrees all that sounds like sh*t now, or is he just saying that we shouldn't do it and he should? Or was he just drunk/high when he did that interview? I dont hate anyone. and the 'gay' thing was a flippant (admittedly) silly joke. I just didnt like that tune very much, sorry if my opinion offended THAT much I'll shut up now.
