Hi everyone i have a trace elliot bass rig which consists of a ah500 12 band head, trace elliot 2 x 10 and a 1 x 15 cabs. Unfortunately my head has packed up beyond repair and i was wondering if i got a Rebelhead 450 to go with these cabs would it work? i have lost faith with Trace elliot gear and want to try something different.I have a limited budget and i'm liking what the rebelhead offers.I would be grateful for any advice.....cheers!

Personally I hate Trace heads but their cabs have always sounded awesome to me.

The cabs should be fine assuming they are both 8OHM and the RH450 is a 4OHM head (which I believe it is).

For a while, whilst awaiting a Barefaced Compact to arrive, I used my TC Classic 450 through a Trace Elliot 18" cab and it sounded great...

... but not as great as through the Barefaced Compact.

Thanks for your advice guys....its convincing me to go for it! i could always buy the matching speakers for the rebelhead sometime in the future. As long as this wont damage the amp i might just bite the bullet! The trace elliot speakers are 8 ohms so it shouldnt be too much of a problem....i am curious on what they will sound like though!
Should be fine, just watch out for required speaker cables! Pretty sure the TC Electronic only has speakon connectors and the Trace Elliot will have jack and xlr connectors?
the trace cabs have both jack and speakon connections =)

Maybe it depends upon the vintage - all my TE speaker cabs had both jack and XLR sockets. The TC Classic 450 has a centre socket for jacks in the speakon socket so you should be ok either way - I used my old jack>jack until the BF arrived, then speakon<> speakon.

I think that all the post-Peavey buyout TE cabs have speakon and jack connections. Before that it was jack XLR. The TE cabs are good quality and work well with different amps. I use the same setup with an EBS Fafner and have tried a few Ampegs, Gallien Krueger and Mesa amps through them too, all sounding good. I might have to move them on soon though, I really don't need a full stack since moving to three piece bands!
