I really like this version!

Wish I could play something like this with such a 'fluid' feel but I think it's never gonna happen :)

Yeah, this is the guy I've been trying to learn it from. His playing is sublime. He's got so much groove and plays it impeccably, but I've watched it a hundred times and still can't figure out what he's actually playing. It's just those 16th notes on the G and octave that I can't get the timing for. As soon as he comes to the G part, he seems to play all 16th notes with lots of ghost notes but I can't for the life of me get it right :) It's driving me nuts! :)

I remember trying it out when the original single was released - I still have it on 12" :)

Interestingly I've just been listening to a view version on YouTube and there's quite a few speed variances kicking around. I've heard this before on YT but never noticed it as obviously as this!
I used to play this in a previous band. The bass player on the track was T.M. Stevens, and it's his typical style. It's a difficult line to master - loads of ghost notes on the G part.

The guy in the vid seems to have nailed it.

Keep at it.
A fellow bass-player met TM Stevens recently and asked him to play the bassline of this song and he couldn't nail it anymore..

Seriously? That actually makes me feel a bit better about not being able to play it :)
