SKB Safe Case For Sale

Hi BC gang and I hope all is well? My name is Matthew and I am a hoarder :) Therefore it is time to clear out my little cubby hole and make some space. This is what I have for sale if anyone is interested -

[b]***SOLD***[/b] 1) - SKB Safecase. This has been used once and is awesome but I now have full flight cases so no longer need this. I paid £120.00 and looking for £65.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photo below. [b]***SOLD***[/b]

[b]***SOLD***[/b] 2) - Warwick Deluxe Gig Bag - This came with my Warwick Streamer LX6 and after selling that bass, it has just sat in the cupboard. My Dingwall basses came with gig bags so this is definitely excess to requirement. Not a lot to say about this apart from the fact that it is in great condition and a superb gig bag that will definitely look afetr your bass. Looking for £30.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photo below. [b]***SOLD***[/b]

[b]***SOLD***[/b] 3) - Warwick Flight Case - This came with my Warwick Streamer Stage 1 and the buyer of the bass didn't want this case as he already had one. I have used it for my old Yamaha TRB6 bass but when that sold, the buyer didn't need the case as he had one. Since then, it has been sat there doing nothing. In pretty good condition but it does have some sign of use but nothing is ripped or broken. Still 100% usable and extremely tough / durable. Great cases. Looking for £50.00. You can collect and I am prepared to drive to meet in a 30 mile radius of Cardiff or it can be delivered at your cost. Photos below. [b]***SOLD***[/b]

Hi Dave, firstly, thanks so much for the extremely kind words about my band, they mean a lot :) Secondly, as you were so genuinely nice, how about we split the costs on getting the case delivered to you. It shouldn't be that much if I'm honest so, if you're interested, let me know and I will look into the cost of getting the case up to you. It has to go and I'm sure your Thumb bass will love it too :lol:

Much appreciate the offer. Late home tonight so only just picking up the thread again.
Looks like you've got plenty of offers for the case.

If its still available let me know - I'm still interested. Probably easier if someone more local buys it.

Are the Dingwalls that good :)

Always thought the Warwick played a major part in your sound.

Nice one Dave. Warwick was my main stay for a long time, but I never really found what I was looking for with them. Great basses (I tried all of them), great sound but they never felt right for me. I moved to Yamaha TRB6 basses which I used on the last album and toured extensively with but again, and I can't put my finger in it, but I was still looking for something else. I suppose that is the curse of us players eh? Anyway, I really started to get fed up with the active EQ on some of the basses I had and after plugging my trusty old P-Bass in one day, I realised I needed to go back to passive instruments and ones that had none fussy controls and just sounded great right from the off. After months of searching I saw, what is now my main Dingwall, at Bass Direct and when I got back from our Norwegian dates, I headed up there to try the AB1 and man, I just fell in love. Everything about it was spot on. It felt right, it sounded incredible, it was passive with the most powerful and precise pick ups I have heard, it looks incredible and weighs nothing. The compound neck is so stunning and the fan frets felt so natural under the fingers. Chordal work was, IMHO, so much easier and more natural and it keeps coming back to that word - natural. I was hooked. I went out on tour 2 months later and that was it - POW! No turning back.

I've just taken delivery of an ABZ with a maple neck and an Ash body instead of the Alder on the AB1, and again, wow. I really, really do swear by these basses and can't wait to record the new album. I've obviously been using them for the writing of the new album and I have to say that this is what I have been looking for. It is going to take something extremely special to turn me away from my Dingwalls :lol:

Hi Matt,
I think you've sold me on the Dingwalls.
I looked at them before buying my Progress but wasn't sure about the fanned frets. At that stage i didn't know i was going for a fretless either. Just something special to celebrate my big 50. Its a 35" scale.
From what you say they aren't an issue when it comes to playing and more "natural".
Its better hearing this from a true working musician rather than the advertising waffle and especially someone who has used some of my fav basses ie Warwick, Yamaha.
Guess when its time to look again I'll give it more thought.
Guess if Leland Sklaar is selling them too they can't be bad and he's virtually converted same as yourself.

With regards The Reasoning - the song Awakening rekindled (awakened) me to the "modern" Prog Rock scene. I was a Genesis, Floyd, Saga, Eloy, Rush type fan until that song and have now gathered quite a collection of the "modern" bands incl Dark Angel and look forward to hearing the next from Reasoning.
Reasoning, Mystery & Pallas (new album) are my top 3 Prog bands at moment so thanks for that.

I've more or less given up playing in serious bands these days. Was always more of a hobby rather than a profession to me. I'm one of those weird guys who enjoyed their day job as an engineer. I still play on occasion with friends and attend the odd jam session where there's no real pressure. Occasional studio work to help some old friends and quite content to stay at that level.
It's allowed me to improve on my technique and learn new styles over past few yrs. That is where I get most enjoyment - learning ! Hence the 6 string fretless - that was a steep learning curve but is paying dividends now.
I guess I got a bit tired of the usual band politics over the years.
Have recently started taking an interest in playing with bands again and will see how it turns out.

Really good hearing about the Dingwalls and keep us all posted on progress with them and the new album.

Hi Dave,

Glad to be of assistance with regards Dingwall basses :lol: I have only ever played one Overwater bass and that was a 6 string but it had the 36" scale and it felt HUGE! There was a single cut on here recently that looks gorgeous and every time I see an Overwater it is always one of those "WOW" things. They are stunning. I want to get a 6 string fretless as well but it's not a necessity just a wish list thing, so one day I will treat myself :)

As far as the new album, it is really coming along nicely and I am so excited about getting back in the studio and getting these songs recorded. I'll keep you posted but it should be out around October / November. I hope we get the opportunity to play for you as well and then maybe, we can sit down with a beer and talk bass a little more, which would be ace.

If you're in the Carlisle area you should look up Chris May at Overwater and trial a 6 string fretless.

Hi Dave, no worries mate you are welcome. I have been to the Overwater shop once but that was back in 2003 when a friend was thinking of buying a bass off Chris. I was only in there for 5 minutes as I had to move the car while he looked around. I was gutted. Anyway, when I am that way again, I will pop in.

Also, we've been to Glasgow twice now. It was last April and November so we will be back again for sure. I'll let you know and it would be great to meet up. As far as me showing you up, I think it will be the other was round mate :) Look forward to speaking soon and take care.

Good morning all on this beautiful day. The SKB Safe Case HAS to go so, I have reduced the price by £10.00 to £65.00 to get it out the door. I hope that helps and that someone wants this, it really is just taking up space. Thanks and BUMP :)
