john_the_bass
Anybody tried a nano Dr. Q? Tried searching for one, couldn't really find anything in the forum. Ta
Alien
I recently bought one off dub_junkie on here. Not had a chance to really use it in anger yet. It sounds pretty crap if you throw the bass switch, it cuts a lot of bottom. A bit of a one trick pony, but it's cool if you're into that funky autowah kind of sound. More extreme settings can sound a bit 'quacky'. It'd probably do a reasonable Bootsy imitation with a bit of work, but as I said I've not really pushed it yet. Just my £0.02 - YMMV Andy
john_the_bass
when you throw the bass switch and it cuts a lot of bottom - do you mean into the bass setting or back into the guitar setting?
Alien
Sorry, meant to say 'if you don't throw the bass switch'. Yes, it sounds thin when not in bass mode. Andy
john_the_bass
ah that's alright then - if i had one it would probably be used in bass mode only anyway
dub_junkie
in bass mode its fine, forget it with guitar unless you're going to drive the front end of it pretty hard.
Old Horse Murphy
John I've got one of these. Want to borrow it?
Toasted
I found it to have very little effect. Much like all of the EHX filters.
Biggsy
I also found it to be too subtle. The Qtron & Qtron+'s are brill IMO; you can turn the effect right down to a similar level to the Dr. Q, but still have the flexibility to turn the funk right up if you fancy.
