Is it just me that thinks the hyperbole over these basses has gone a little crazy?

I have one. The neck was really awful as were the strings. The rest is okay and for £60 the body, bridge and pickup (that's surprisingly good) have been a worthwhile purchase with a better neck installed.

I don't want to rain on anyone's parade but I feel like comments such as 'I've bought one to stash in case it becomes valuable' are losing touch with reality.

It's a cheap P bass and sold at half price it represents good value. It's not a brilliant bass and I don't think it's the bargain of the century either, it simply is what it is.

Why another thread? What's wrong with This?
Approaching 10,000 views & 275 replies, do we really need another?

No I'm not grumpy, just saying like :)

Edit: A big +1 to Pete's above ^^
