coop1985 Posted February 1, 2011 Share Posted February 1, 2011 I'm currently running an Ashdown ABM EVOII 500 2x10 with an Ashdown ABM 1x15 cab. I'm using a Rickenbacker 4003 and an Epiphone Thunderbird. My problem is, I aren't getting the volume I thought I should. I'm nearly maxing out my Input and Output volumes and the amp is struggling. I've noticed that if I drop the Bass volume to 9 o'clock, it seems a lot better, but still haven't got the volume. Can anybody help, or has anybody else had a similar problem? Can you give a bit more nfo is this in band situation gig or rehearsal, whats the line up Often you find other instruments, guitar and keyboards take your sonic space, just leaving a blur. Have you tried shoving the little EQ sliders up a bit and making sure that the 'Shape' button isn't pushed in? Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
coop1985 Posted February 2, 2011 Author Share Posted February 2, 2011 Thans for the posts guys... EQ is normally:- Bass at 9 oclock, mids slightly boosted and treble flat.. Thats the best I've got so far. I was wondering whether it's because of the carpeted walls. The guitarist has got a big sound, so I did wonder if its because of that, but it does sound quiet on its own... no bal,ls at all. The Amp has been off to Ashdown to be tested and come back that everything is spot on! How do I check if its in phase with the 9v battery test? Thanks again. Not enough bottom end... then when the cab is in, it sort of feels like the 10s are trying to take too much of the bass and the 15 isn't taking enough. borisbrain Posted February 3, 2011 Share Posted February 3, 2011 Just clutching at straws here, but... Is input set to 'passive'? There's a 15dB difference... Is output speaker cable of sufficient quality? (ie not a guitar cable...) Do you have any in-line effects before the amp input where there could be a problem? You could also try bridging the effects loop with a patch lead... If you've already tried all this stuff, forgive me. Just trying a few wild ideas. Hope you get it fixed.
