Great condition (minus a small scratch on the neck and some small dings on the headstock finish) and a lovely playing bass. I just need some cash! It has a black scratchplate on but the original chrome one will be included as well.
I would like £340 posted in a padded gigbag with insured interparcel delivery! Absolute bargain. No offers and I do NOT want to trade.

I've never even noticed that before! I'm the second owner of this bass and haven't had it set up since I bought it so I imagine it must have been the guy I bought it from that set it up like this. Regardless, it doesn't affect the playability or sound of the bass at all, I've never even noticed it! If it bothered someone they could always change it :)

Yes its no biggy really you have had me looking at all my own just in case i was talking jibberish! generally on mine they all run roughly angled backwards with the E (or B ) being longest or furthest away from the neck if you like. Im not the most technical TBH but I think as the saddles run the length of their travel there are a few places where it intonates with itself but not in the same exact scale length of the other strings making the tension slightly different across the whole set. Does that make sense? Do you play any chordal stuff as thats where you would notice it mostly?

It kind of makes sense, but to be honest I don't really know enough about this to understand fully.
Just had a play around with it as you've got me all paranoid but there are no problems with intonation or sound or abnormal string tension. I'd like to stress that there is nothing wrong with the bass!

It's nothing to worry about mate and a lot of people would set it all up how they wanted and put it back at the same time. Sorry if I have worried you bud you could put a topic up in bass discussion and see what everyone else says (i could be wrong like i said im not an expert but its not how any i have seen are) there might even be someone local who would do it if it needs it for a pint. :)

Yeah, looking at the picture I'm almost certain the intonation will be off, unless he's using some very unusual combination of string gauge/action.
Still, it's not a big issue. Almost like saying "the bass is not in tune". The adjustment is simple and minor. Very nice bass.

  • 2 weeks later...

I have the twin of this bass. I can't believe it's still here at this price.

Edit: I've just noticed it's red and not black like mine. Makes no difference to it being a raging bargain.
