Wireless Unit

To All,

Sorry posting a topic that has potentially already been touched on.

I have been thinking lately about getting a dedicated wireless unit for the bass as normal guitar ones don't always let the full frequency range pass through.

You can't beat a good quality lead but for some reason I have started getting tangled up in mine when performing, a right pain in the arse! I was wondering what experiances people have had with using Ashdowns dedcated unit, Freebass?

Can't seem to find any reviews as such on the net so hopefully one of the many bassists on here may have had some experiance with it. I'm not too fussed about all the DSP effects built in, I play very standard bass in a standard 60's covers band so effects for bass isn't at the top of my list, playing 6 string would be a different matter! :)

over the years i have used a fair few wireless systems - AKG, Audio Technica, Nady Bass specific, Sennheiser. Then, as have many found here, discovered the x2 system (now rebranded as Line 6 relay g30)

for me it was an absolute revelation. i get the exact sound from my bass with no issues with companding / expanding - which all analogue systems use.

these can be found used for somewhere around the £120 - £130 mark (around £230 new) , and IMO and IME they are worth every penny.
