1. Bump, decided to go through with the sale of this again. No auction this time, just straight up.. any interest? Can't really split sorry.
2. As this thread seems to cover other models in the V series.. I'm trying to get my hands on the V6, but one thing I love about fat valve amps is the grill sections you get on the V8, the Sunn 300T etc. Is it considered sacrilege if I take the V6 front off and somehow replace it with a grill? Is it even possible or is it out of the question, or just too difficult? Also, is anyone likely to beat me to death for doing this
3. Indeed it does, hence my question! Think I'll probably play it safe and get rid of both cabs at the same time then replace with a single as noted. Ta
4. oops, its neither! I meant Hartke HA3000 , I'll edit my previous post as not to confuse.
5. Thanks for the interest, to be honest at the moment I'm more interested in trying to sell it as a complete rig and Ive had a PM from a member who wants to come see it with the intention of purchase, altho I've not heard back in a few days. If there's no sale then I might consider a split so I'll keep you in mind. Cheers!
6. Cheers for the feedback guys, its a Trace V6 and I've not heard of any problems running it in 2ohm mode. I was just hoping I'd get to keep my Trace 1x15 cab, but looks like I'm better off selling both my 8ohm cabs (Peavey 4x10 and Trace 1x15) and buying a single 4ohm cab like an Ampeg 4x10 out of it?
7. just a small query... I'm getting an amp that's 2ohm/4ohm switchable. both of my cabs are 8ohm so to use my amp I'm only going to be able to do it when I take both cabs out and run them in series to up the resistance to 4ohm. I'd rather sell one of the cabs and get a 4ohm cab so I can use it singularly.. but what about running a 4ohm and 8ohm cab in series? or parrallel?
8. without wanting to advertise too much, I've also got a hartke head I'm selling at the moment. 3000 model that kicks out 350 on 4ohm and 180 on 8ohm. if you're based in south wales or nearby feel free to come take a look. looking for 160 for it and might have a cab available also (peavey 4x10 at 8 ohm). edit: messed up the model number, fixed
9. Looking for £400 for the complete set if someone from here wants it. Local pickup is far preferable but can work something out if needed. It weighs a fair chunk (around 20-something kg?) so it's probably not the cheapest thing to ship, but I'm sure other people here would have more experience. edit Was an auction, now just after a straight sale. Need to sell complete as it's my only rig at the moment and want to get a new head shortly as I'm back in a band. It sounds great, but probably best suited to someone who's a better player than me!
10. To be honest, I'm not really a Precision kinda guy. I used to have a Yamaha Att Plus when I first started which is obviously based on the standard P-Bass, and the fretboard is a bit big for my hands.. I moved over to Ibanez' a few years ago and their setup suits me much better, and my Warwick follows on with that. I love the Warwick so that's not going anywhere and will be my main (and only, for now) instrument. Also on top of it, from a question of looks I prefer non-Fender 'classic' pbass/jbass styles.. even if the sound was amazing, I have to like the aesthetics too or I'll go off it.
11. I don't fiddle too much Its been a good rig to own, but probably deserves to go to a better player than myself. I've been speaking to someone who can sell me a Trace Elliot V6 for not that much more than I plan to sell my rack for (I'm hoping for around £400 for the BBE preamp, the Matrix poweramp, the tuner and the 4U.. does this sound reasonable? The BBE new alone is £350 at the cheapest I can find it, other places like dolphin, music tech etc have it listed for just under £500) then I'll have to work out how to run my cabs in series as they're 8ohm and the V6 is 2/4 switchable until I can buy maybe a single 4ohm cab instead. He's advised me the DI pot is a bit buzzy, so keeping my MXR in the effects loop and using the DI out on that for live would be fine I'm sure.. ?
12. Right, I'll list everything I own and see if I can work out an idea of where to go from here... Basses: Warwick Corvette ProLine Bass Ibanez Ergodyne EDB600 Bass (spare) My Amp Rig: BBE BMAX-T Preamp Matrix UKP1300 Poweramp Behringer BTR2000 Rack tuner Metal 4U Case (full with the above) + Hartke HA3000 2U head (spare) My Cabs: Peavey 4x10 (no idea what model, its the old 80s logo rather than the new one tho) Trace Elliot 1x15 (model 1518) Pedals: MXR M80 Bass DI+ Morley Wah Electroharmonix Big Muff (Russian) Anything marked as 'spare' I know I want to sell already, altho in my head I tell myself thats to pay for the council tax and to try sneak a little way out of my overdraft. The rest of the stuff... well I don't want to sell my Warwick, I love it and I don't think a different bass is going to make the difference. The BBE is a stunning pre-amp but I think its possibly too clean cut and tech for my style.. I was hoping at one point to become a decent bassist and try to vary style more, but I think given the amount of free time I have, I'll just stick to what Im doing and thats playing in my band. We're hardcore (think punk, metal for tone) so I need something with growl, and the MXR helps any rig I've ever put it through. That 'colour' button just adds 10x to the sound, but in turn Ive never tried the Sansamp in comparison. Cab wise, I'd probably prefer to drop down to just the 1 cab, and it probably wouldn't be either of the two I've got! So I'm in a bit of a pickle. If you were in my position, not wanting to spend any more money and wanted a high quality rig with some balls (I blame Nash and his Sunn head...) what would you keep? what would you flog, and more importantly.. what would you get?
13. Shouldn't be any problem at all, a lot of the CDs on Sony's label used to have CD Text as standard so it was definitely used. I think the only non-computer player that could take advantage that I owned was a Sony MP3CD player, but I'm guessing it was mainly for car cd player use. More importantly would be to get the disc registered on CDDB and equivalents in my opinion.
14. I'm just about to buy the Pro 10's big brother, the Pro 26.. it looks an ace bit of kit that had escaped my research until yesterday (prob because the Pro's are relatively new compared to the Digidesigns and Motu's), the purchase price is great given that they have 8pre's on board, 2 sets of ADATs for a ridiculous 24 channels of live input recording (via 2x behringer ada8000s for example) and a bunch of balanced inputs so I can record off desk without a problem. Fantastic!
15.
I know this is a bit off topic, but, does anyone know what the deal is with a shared house? We had a contents policy at my old house, but they wont cover my house-mate's gear, only mine (we had a break-in). At the time, my dad organised the policy, and they said we'd both be covered, but, it looks like in the small print that they're right.
Yeah alas that seems fairly standard on policies for let properties, its the same deal I'm on and it is a pain as I can't really expect my flatmate to contribute much towards the cost (we have to have a policy in place to cover £2k of the landlords fittings, pain!) but I can't moan too much as 90% of the expensive gear in the flat is mine so it's not fair for him to stump up the cash to cover it.. even if he is constantly playing Halo3 on my HDTV...
16. I work in the industry (claims side rather than policy, so I can't help much on that) and whilst I've looked into claims involving instruments as I always take an interest in things I know more about than the other handlers, I've never declined anything for damage/theft to instruments if the policyholder was obviously a normal person and wasn't getting the gear free via sponsers etc. I've covered a fair few claims with expensive gear, and claims where I've found the bands the clients have been in on the web, but I can justify making the payout so it doesn't bother me. I find most people in the industry will pay out rather than not if its something they don't tend to understand and don't have anyone to turn to as it generates more work and generally won't be overturned anyway. Just don't take the piss

18. Don't suppose you're ever in Cardiff? I would do you £50 cash in hand...
19. Cheers Sean, appreciate that
20. bump.. fixed the HC link which was broken, 20+ reviews on there all averaging above 9/10 .. its a great bass but its not getting the use now I've got a warwick proline and I can't justify owning it anymore (I suck too much to justify owning one bass really!)
21. Please ignore the fact I'm a newbie poster here, I was active on the previous forums and bought off quite a few people there with no problems. Ibanez Ergodyne EDB600 Bass (£180) Cracking luthite 4string active EQ bass, recently setup and comes with a gig bag. Minimal damage (only one tiny bit that I'm aware of) and meaty as hell. Pretty much black all over apart from the fretboard (the back of the neck is tho) and looks the business. Strap ain't included, but thats about it. Comes with a gig bag which isn't pictured. Same model (bar string count) used by Andi Desecration, so guaranteed death metal credibility! words: Harmony Central I would prefer a local pickup just due to the stress of moving house in the next week and trying to offload some gear first, but can agree to postage and I'm sure we can come to an agreement for postage costs.
