The original was written and performed by Waters.

There are plenty of songs I play E on the seventh fret as that's the direction that the melody is leading.

When you play legato notes under a melody, your note choice is very important.

Why? Why is it very important when legato and not staccato? And why when under a melody as opposed to not?

I still want to know the answer to this!

It's just during the chorus. 1:38 on here.

[/quote]Personally, I don't think that it is interesting enough musically for it to make a difference!

It's the last note of the verse. Everything lifts into the chorus. Except the bass. :D

Just because you can play a note doesn't mean you should.

Yeah, but also just cos everything else lifts doesn't mean you should. Contrary motion, counterpoint etc all valid musical devices.

I'm not saying you're wrong as i've never listened to the song you are on about. But musically i like things moving in different directions.

  5. My mate as took his amp to be fixed. He and I are both idiots. A guy as explained what's wrong and what is solution is. It sounds perfectly reasonable but we wanted to check with people who may know. My mate knows the guy he's took it to a little bit. He is an electronics and amp fixy guy. Its probably paranoia but i didn't want to lay the problem out on here and the guy turn out to be a member here as he's a amp guy. If do we would give the impression of not trusting him!

So, anybody into stuff that doesn't use bass?

Recently I've been going through a Synthwave bent, mainly because it reminds me of old 80s scifi movies.

I've recently got into synthwave. Mitch murder etc. Love it for same reason but it is also really musical. I like the scandanavian penchant for harmonic and melodic minor. To be fair love them synth bass sounds
