2. at the moment its my career ambition, i love the dramatic music, like film scores kinda thing. Just need to get good and be a reading master

9. I'm starting to think jazz basses are cool :s
10. I love the dead sound and feel of the ghs boomers, once i wear them in a bit
11. just played this bass today. Really good bass and i compared it to the 70's classic MIM and 60's roadworn jazz basses. The tone ws great for me, lots of mids with a bit of growl, what i would describe a marcus miller tone. It made the roadworn sound very artificial and sloppy and the MIM didnt quite get the same tone. However, to get this tone i think you can get the same and more out of the Marcus Miller signiture. The one i played on really was amazing and i think rather than buying the squier i will save up for the Marcus Miller. But all in all i give the squier an 8/10..... 9/10 for tone, 6/10 for looks and quality, and 10/10 for value. If i was buying today on the basses i tried, i would leave the MIM and the Road worn for the squier which is not what i expected
12. i too was going to say musicman sub, or a used MIM 70's classic jazz bass
13. These come up for between £750 and £900 here and on ebay. I personally wouldn't pay more than £800 for one because thats how much i value them as. Different people have different valuations. In a shop it would be tagged at £1k but most shops barter on these prices
14. My favourite was the squier
15. how is it despite me knowing i really dont like the flea bass, after seeing that i really want one
16.
I think I've worked out that the core has gone in the string, I'll get a replacement tomorrow but playing it is amazing, what an instrument and so physically exhausting.
are you playing with a bow? its the mental strength to remember how to use the blummin thing that shatters me But OMG it sounds awsome, even for a cheep chinese! Hopefuly it is just the string, it looks very nice
17. I didnt try any of my current basses before i bought them, to save money more than anything. And the ones i have now are perfect. Although iv had a few crappy basses, one being an epiphone thunderbird, it got moved on rather quick. Also an american deluxe jazz bass, just didnt deliver anything near its value and the build quality was shoddy. It was a 2000 model
18. Does anyone own either of these? Im confused as to what the differences are and which to get.... Also unsure if the fake book is bass parts or piano charts of his compositions
19. Just knock the bridge up a bit, sorted out the action on my DB
