i have just had a desk delivered which was special delivery next day, it arrived 4 days later, the girl that dropped it off said its been lying at the warehouse as no one wanted to take it cus it was big, she came in on the monday and dropped it round and she said that even though the tracking notice said, " we tried to deliver your parcel but there was no on in and no safe place to put it, we will be in contact next working day to rearrange delivery," it was a lie as no one attempted the delivery in the first place and i should get my money back through the seller. so.. it seems they do this non delivery tracking notice in a bid to save there own donkey, and dont really care as most people wont clame back the cost anyway.

"next day delivery"  bahhh.... i have never had anything next day delivered, i have bought from adverts that say it, but i have never had it.

Anybody have working copies of the 3 1'2" floppy disks 1 & 2 for ver 1.4 with big disk Operating system to boot up my HDR.

My copies don't work and can't convert files from Mackie.

I can do you a drive with the software on just swap the drive and your good to go. or if you just want the files from the drive, you can put the drive in a drive bay connected to your PC/laptop and just copy and past the song files with the WAVS in, but dont for get if you then say put them into cubase all files will start at the begining, so any edits/cuts you did in ther hdr will all be seen by cubase as a new seperate file, so only use that if the files have been rendered or whole in the HDR.

I've been running an D8B/HDR setup for nearly 25 years, but I've never attempted to get 2 HDRs into one D8B. How's it done?

    easyer than you think 🙂

i have 1 HDR connected via ADAT (light pipe) to the normal faderbank 2 ( tape in ) and have another HDR with two analog in/out cards and one adat card ( or you could use the AES/EBU card) the 16 analog outs from the HDR goes to fader bank 1 ( mic/line track) fron chans 9 to 24. theres 16 tracks and the other adat card ( or aes/ebu) in out goes to the spare alt slot on the d8b, which come in on faderbank 3 ( effects ) from chans 17 to 24, this gives you the other 8 tracks  🙂 this then gives you with the other HDR 48 tracks into the desk  with 40 compressors and 40 gates and 40 dynamic EQs,  all 40 tracks are also automated along with the EQs and fx.

    how cool is that ?

all that is clocked by the D8B as master you will need the apogee clock card installed in the D8B.

if you have a home studio like me you never need all 24 chans on faderbank 1 (ins) anyway so you may as well use 16 of them with another hdr, leaving you still 8 ( 1 to8) as your main ins for your instruments, pleanty enough.

and it gets better because your only using the 16 analog outs from your hdr the other spare 16 analog ins into the hdr you can connect these to any other preamp, mixers you want. if you want to get into the HDR2 from the d8b you can just go through any of the 8 chans on the alt card and then when you have recorded a track on it,on the hdr screen just move it to any track you want, you can also bounce tracks between the two hdr, and also network them together.

Alot to think about there, but its really easy, iv been running it this way for getting on 20 years and never a problem, and sounds great, check out the 4 tracks just released, all done on the D8B.

if you need any help just shout, and again if you need another HDR to get it to 48 tracks just pm me, cheers

I read the thread title during the break in HIGNFY and automatically assumed PA meant Personal Assistant 😅 🙃

And "Personal Assistant" is just another way of saying, Personal Attention, which is another way of saying Physical Affair,

which is just another way of saying, Practicing adultry, which just another way of saying, perverted acts in a private apartment by party animals using pharmaceutical aides with a .... "Personal Assistant"

    🙂

  5. be like me, drink more beer, then you can use the bass like a lap steel guitar, easy

you could take your amp, and if the amp has a "DI OUT" send that to the desk if not get a DI box and plug into that.

this splits the signal from your bass into 2 paths, 1 to your amp and one to the pa desk using the right signal for the desk to manage, then you get the best of both worlds, if its a small pa you can just take some bass off the eq on the desk, then just add as much bass volume as you need to reinforce your amp sound.

here is a cheap DI box that will do the job..

    https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/334324451994?hash=item4dd74a4a9a:g:wk8AAOSwVCRiBPzS&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA0P2bS%2FD0zpllnYm8k823rMxtqeot%2ByTlyCeUERJaGZ2k5JwmbC0uRwJPw%2BJFM0z503%2FW%2FNVeHPCLcm3XivffxbTwkZ8kGfjvMOp04wf4Ca2n64YzaW2lK4y3iRw15O%2BAS9WaS37lJnYKc7lrQz9s7azleOm9RClpP7snLqbChM12vkVbNYxrPPZEP%2BQGhV5GL7jB9B9hdeRNcOOqd3Qc%2BaJ%2BwAUh%2BYOgDUnVqC5TOeEqeGzuE8KCLh%2B9UcOvjUNE4tvSUy3zWY4HdhxerRbybvA%3D|tkp%3ABFBMxtDcp_9h

if you look at it there is an ..

input = thats where you plug you bass into.

thru = thats where you take your bass sound to your amp, so connect that to the input of your amp.

output= an xlr output that goes to your desk xlr mic input.

    Job done. easy 🙂

keep the di box in your bass bag, every gigging bass player should have a di box, just incase, at least then if your amp packs in you can still play through the DI box 🙂

A bit like taking a photo of the wife 5 mins just before you tell her your divorcing her. cus your pumping her sister,

you may as well get a good photo first.

Or...you could take one 1 min after you tell her, you know, just to keep in ya wallet, just to make you smile now and again 🙂

  11. mmmmmmm swr,,

    i love swr gear.

here is my refurbed Silverado mk2, 350w 2x12 combo.

it has the valve pre in it, and it sounds awsome.

you dont see many of these in the uk, it sounds like a red head only "bigger"

These are extremely well made using only top class components. and yet not alot of people know about them,

but i think its the sleeper of swr gear.

i still have a red head as my main gig combo which i have had for as long as i can remember and also

some extension cabs a 1000w upgraded 2x10 and a son of bertha 1x15.

so have most gigs covered, iv just sold my 6x10 golly and a SM500 as was getting abit big to cart about, and only used for out door gigs really.

Q; Why is the redhead called the red head ???

    here ya go

here is some cool history about steve and swr, Enjoy                                                                            https://bassmagazine.com/artists/true-genius-remembering-steve-rabe-and-swr

Don’tyajust luv those “Voice of the theatre” cabs. Somewhere in the dim and distance, somewhere in the states, in a theatre they built a horn loaded loud speaker into a stage, beneath the stage, it was voiced to a wavelength that caused nausea, it was about 9Hz. Not a folded horn, a complete wavelength 🤫😱. Altec Lansing drivers were used

hi bri, thats just crazy, where did you get that from ?
